Astrid S. Onsum
Astrid Skarheim Onsum is the CEO of Aker Offshore Wind. Rising through the Aker and Kvaerner systems in series of senior business and leadership roles, she spent considerable time in the North Sea and saw early the potential of offshore floating wind. In 2018, Ms. Skarheim Onsum became Head of Offshore Wind in Aker Solutions, and in 2020, Aker decided it was time to establish a pure play wind developer. Having previously been Chief Digital Officer at Aker Solutions, she aims for Aker Offshore Wind to lead the industry´s digitalization efforts, in operations as well as in charting the environmental impact of offshore floating wind.
Skarheim Onsum holds a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Leif Holst is responsible for the development of the global portfolio of offshore wind projects. He has 10 years of experience in the offshore wind industry and joined Aker Offshore Wind in 2018, after six years with strategy and investments in Ørsted. Since 2018, and until Aker Offshore Wind was listed in August 2020, Mr. Holst focused on business development and M&A in the company, as well as building the project and prospect portfolio. Mr. Holst serves on the Board of Directors of Korea Floating Wind Power Co. Ltd.
Mr. Holst obtained his Master of Science in Applied Economics and Finance from Copenhagen Business School.
Geir Olav Berg
Geir Olav Berg is responsible for aligning technology needs with Aker Offshore Wind strategy and growth targets, including research and implementation. Mr. Berg has more than 25 years of experience from the offshore industry. His previous leadership roles include Head of Engineering in the Aker Solutions floating wind business, as well as numerous management positions as VP of Engineering devoted to subsea technology and project execution in the Aker companies.
Mr. Berg is highly motivated by the opportunities that exist in the combination of renewable energy and ocean technologies. He holds an MSc in Naval Architecture with focus on Cybernetic/Robotics from NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Tove Røskaft is responsible for all staff activities, as well as business excellence at Aker Offshore Wind. Ms. Røskaft heads up the global functions and is located at the headquarters in Fornebu, Norway.
She joined Aker Offshore Wind in 2021 and has extensive global leadership experience. Her previous leadership experience includes roles such as Chief Communication Officer, Executive Vice President of Umbilicals, and Head of #thejourney in Aker Solutions, as well as several other leadership roles within project management, manufacturing, and engineering. Through 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Ms. Røskaft has demonstrated the ability to inspire and motivate teams to deliver high performance and results. Ms. Røskaft holds a M.Sc. in Marine Hydrodynamics from NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Caroline Kielland Hov
Caroline Kielland Hov is accountable for Project Execution at Aker Offshore Wind. She joined the company in 2020 and has extensive experience within project controls and business management from both Norwegian and international projects within Aker Solutions. Ms. Hov’s responsibilities include but are not limited to development of the execution strategy for project management & control, project procurement and supply chain, fabrication management, transport & marine operations, and hook-up & commissioning.
She is passionate about development of co-workers, secure a good working environment and motivate and facilitate activities that helps colleagues to perform in their work.
Ms. Hov holds a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
Geir Ove Karlsen
Geir Ove Karlsen is responsible for the Policy and Sustainability in the company. He joined Aker Solutions’ offshore wind team in 2019 and has extensive leadership experience from Benestad Solutions (an Aker Solutions’ Company) from roles as Managing Director, Operations Director and Sales Director. Mr. Karlsen represents Aker Offshore Wind in several industry committees on offshore wind and renewable energy. He is passionate about driving the energy transition by developing new offshore energy markets and making planet positive business decisions with a clear focus on green clean energy and sustainable growth.
Mr. Karlsen holds a M.Sc. in Business and Economics from BI Norwegian Business School and MBA in Strategic Management from NHH Norwegian School of Economics.
Birgitte Karlsen has worked as a lawyer within the offshore sector for 19 years and has for the last few years especially been focusing on offshore wind. She has worked for the law firm Wikborg Rein during the main part of her career and was a partner in the firm from 2013 to 2021. She has a law degree from the University of Bergen and graduated in 2002.
Johan Sandberg has worked with offshore wind since 2008 and has been especially focused on floating wind turbine technology. Mr. Sandberg joined the Aker group of companies in 2019 after more than 10 years in DNV GL where he, among other things, had global responsibility for offshore renewables advisory services, responsibility for developing the world’s first design standard for floating wind turbines, and the world’s only guideline for integrating offshore wind with offshore oil & gas assets.
Mr. Sandberg holds an MBA in Energy Management from Nanyang University, Singapore, and a MSc. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Lund, Sweden.
Jonah Margulis is accountable for all U.S. operations and joined Aker Offshore Wind in January 2021. He has significant leadership experience from roles as U.S. Country Manager, Head of Front End North America, and General Manager of the Subsea Production Alliance at Aker Solutions. Mr. Margulis’s primary responsibilities include the development of deepwater wind projects and portfolio development in the Americas along with building and managing the local team and legal entity. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of Offshore Wind California (OWC) and sits on the Board of Directors of the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA).
Mr. Margulis obtained his engineering degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, and MBA with an Energy Management certificate from the University of Houston.
